Around half of these use online services. If you’re one of those 40,000 or so, and are comfortable renewing your bus pass online, doing so will free Contact Centre and library staff to help those who don’t have internet access.

Renewing online means you can use your own photograph, and even see what it looks like on a mock bus pass.

The county council has been emailing reminders inviting people to renew their concessionary bus pass. Nearly 70 per cent of recipients have gone on to renew online which has saved the council a lot of time and money already, but has also made it easier for people renewing.

So if you have internet access, and feel comfortable using it, do use the online form to renew your bus pass.

I have moved from Norfolk (King’s Lynn area) and now live in Parson Drove which is in Cambridgeshire. My bus pass expiry date is 17th June 2017. Do l need to apply to you with a new application or can l renew through Norfolk using the information they have?
    Thank you

    • Lorna Dupre says:

Good evening, Mike. Norfolk County Council’s website says: ‘If you are moving to an address outside of Norfolk you must return your pass to us, advising us that you have moved away from the area. You will then need to apply to the relevant authority covering your new address to issue you with a new pass.’ Kind regards, Lorna

Good afternoon, Diana. The fact that you have mislaid your bus passes should not be a problem. But I doubt you will be able to complete the renewal process by phone as you will have to supply a photo. Do call the helpline on 0345 045 1367 and ask for advice, or drop in to your local library who will be able to help (they might want you to make an appointment). Kind regards,

      Lorna

I have had to help my 87 year old mother-in-law renew her pass. Not easy as she lives 120 miles away and the website didn’t work (so much for Silicon Fen!)
I live in Portsmouth and was just sent a new one in the post: why can’t Cambridgeshire do this?

I have just tried to renew my bus pass on line but to no luck.Apparently the system has been so called updated and all information has been deleted. This means now all renewals are classed as new applications. You now have to supply birth certificate proof of address as well as new photo. Is this supposed to be progress in the new digital age

I think the website for the renewal of a bus pass on line is faulty. I have written the number on the card and it keeps telling me there must not be more than 18 numbers on the card. There are 18 numbers on the card, not more than 18.

    • Lorna Dupre says:

Good afternoon, Joan. Can I suggest you call the helpline on 0345 045 1367? They should be able to advise you. Kind regards, Lorna
